Summer Vacation-Day 28

Bare with me, there are a lot of photos today.  And my camera on my phone is still fuzzy.

We went to Bainbridge Island today, just me and the kids.  We had to take a ferry from Seattle to get there.  We just parked our car in Seattle and went by foot.  The places we wanted to go were in walking distance from the port.

It was pretty windy and the kids thought it was pretty cool.  You can see Seattle in the background.  Right behind Jacob is the new Ferris Wheel and the SpaceNeedle.  

Hailey was trying to blow away.  The kids had so much fun riding the ferry.  

Once we got to Bainbridge, we went to the children's museum.  The place was empty, which was awesome for us!

Here the kids were making monsters.  The lady on the right was showing me a coupon for a camp that was coming up.  

James didn't really know where to start.  I think he was a little shocked that he could get away with touching whatever he wanted.  

I felt like Alice in Wonderland with these little doorways.  Only James could walk through them.  

This children's museum is a lot like the one in Portland, only on a much smaller scale.  It had a lot of the same things.  The small size was actually really nice because I could keep an eye on all three children.  

Remember Lite Brights as a kid? Is that what they were called? 

The dinosaur was eating my arm, in case you didn't notice.  

After the children's museum and lunch, we went to the famous Mora Iced Creamery.  This place has been rated as one of the best ice creameries in the Nation.  You can have their ice cream shipped to your house.  This was our first time trying it and I tell you it was a "knock your socks off" kind of experience!  It truly lives up to its reputation.  We had 4 different flavors: Coconut, Cheesecake with Brownies, Chocolate Hazelnut, and Raspberry. Just in case you are not fully convinced that this place has the best ice cream, I will tell you a story.  Hailey ate the Chocolate Hazelnut and the Raspberry ice cream and loved it.  The chocolate hazelnut had nuts, which Hailey hates, and she will never eat berry flavored ice cream.  Those are two big no-no's in her book and she loved both.  Gotta try it!  It would make a great gift to anyone.

Here we are, waiting for the ferry to take us home.  The kids were pretty tired and James had not taken a nap yet.  He was way too interested in everything going on to fall asleep.  

Later, Jacob decided to use the baby swing.  I kept laughing because he looked like he was wearing a huge green diaper.  Or maybe just WWF pants.
