Maui-Day 1

The day started when I had to wake the kids up at 6:15 to get ready to head to the airport. James, who always wakes up at the this time, was showing no signs of wanting to wake up, go figure. He was very cranky, so Hailey and Jacob snuggled up with him on my bed and sang, "I Am A Child of God" and he calmed down right away.

We had a long day of traveling, so most of my photos are of us just doing that.  The kids started getting really excited for our trip once we got on the shuttle to the airport after parking our car.

We took the underground train to our gate.  The kids loved that.

We watched airplanes take off while we waited to board our plane.

I let the kids run around cray before we boarded the plane, so they could get out all their energy, which of course is never possible.

Our flight took 6 hours and 20 minutes and felt like eternity.  The kids started out promising and enjoyed watching as many movies as they wanted...

But towards the end, everyone started falling apart.  James took a nap, thankfully, which helped a lot with his attitude.  Once we got off the plane, we had to pick up our car, hit up Costco and then drive 26 miles to our hotel, which tool another hour to get too.  Along the way, we saw humpback whales jumping out of the water.  It was sooo cool, but Hailey had lost her patience and couldn't stand one more minute of traveling.  She was dying to go swimming!

As soon as we got to the hotel, we got our swimsuits on and went swimming.  It is beautiful here!  The ocean is warm and inviting.  The resort is beautiful and we are looking forward to spending a week here.

The kids went to bed around 7:30 Hawaiian time.  They were exhausted!  They didn't put up a fight going to sleep.

Brennan and I hung out on our lanai and ate a nice dessert and enjoyed the nice evening.
