Jacob's Birthday

Hailey had been asking me for weeks if we could make this cake we found on pinterest for Jacob's birthday.  All I did was make two round cakes, stack them and cover them in lots of frosting.  Then I wrapped the cake in KitKats and topped it with M&Ms. Jacob was happy.
Jacob had been telling me for months that he wanted his birthday at Kidz Bounce and that he wanted all his friends to come.  Well, I don't do big birthday parties every year because it's a lot of work and sometimes it's nice to celebrate as just a family.  Also, it was during Spring Break and none of his friends were around anyway.  So Jacob woke up pretty bumbed that he wasn't getting the day he wanted, but we tried pretty hard to make it a special day.

We started it off with Brennan taking the day off of work.  Brennan and I had been planning a surprise for Jacob, we told him we were taking him to the store to pick out his birthday present.  He thought we were headed to Target and he was planning on picking out a toy.  Instead, we took him to a bike shop where he got to pick out his new bike.  He was a little upset about this at first, but as soon as he got inside, he was really excited about a new bike.

After we got the bike, we went to Fat Burger for lunch, then we went to see the movie Home in 3D. Jacob was pretty happy with the way his birthday turned out, even though it didn't go the way he had wanted it to.
