A Week of Birthday Cake

You know it's a good birthday when you start eating cake a week early.  James knows this one is his.  

Just before heading down to Portland to visit family and to celebrate Brennan and James' birthdays, we had to celebrate Hailey and Jacob participating in the schools science fair.  Hailey and Brennan made a water pump together.  Great job Hailey! 

Jacob was pretty set on making a catapult, so Brennan helped Jacob make one in one time at all.  

We left after the science fair and drove straight to Portland.  I love it when my kids share a bed together.  

What was supposed to be a happy and fun weekend, turned into a very sad weekend.  My poor sister in law lost her mother very suddenly and unexpectedly.  I helped watch her and my brother's kids (my cool nephews) while my sister in law spent the last few hours with her mother before she past.  It was a very hard thing for Tasha and her Family to go through.  I'm very glad that we were able to be there to help support her in any way we could.  

The boys had no idea anything had happened yet to their grandma, so the kids had the time of their lives. 

More snuggle time.  

Even though atmosphere was a bit sad, James still thought his birthday was pretty awesome.  Here's to the big 3's!
